The Lifetime Supermodeller is a new, generic superannuation modeller designed for use by your members on your fund's website. It has zero set-up costs, is easy to install and is based on a monthly subscription fee, scaled according to your membership.
The Lifetime Supermodeller allows members to project their retirement income through a user-friendly interface that draws on an actuarially-tested maths 'engine'.
Using easy to understand graphics, the Lifetime Supermodeller enables members to see – literally – the impact of their decisions today on their retirement tomorrow, i.e. if I contribute this much today, what will that mean when I retire?
By 'generic' we mean a modeller that has a common core (maths, user interface layout and available modelling options) but can be tailored to your fund through the use of your brand, copy and assumptions. This 'off the shelf' solution delivers a robust, mathematically-driven modeller at an affordable price.
Probably! AHC Pacific’s approach to modelling comes from a 'member first' perspective. Our expertise is around making sure the member is able to easily use and benefit from the modeller. By providing a visual and interactive presentation of the data with instant updates, our modellers genuinely engage members and allow them to really understand the variables that will impact the value of their super at retirement.
Data-focused modellers or calculators are often time-intensive forms with minimal interactivity. These types of tools require a significant time investment from the member before they can actually see any results. We enable members to see relevant results quickly then explore these in more detail after they have engaged with the tool.
Using a computer mouse, members input factors such as age, gender, current earnings and any existing superannuation they have. Once these variables are set, members then adjust the on-screen sliders to see how a given action or decision could affect their income in retirement. The factors which can be adjusted include:
- Target income in retirement
- Retirement age
- Before and after-tax contributions
- A one-off lump sum contribution
- Periods of part-time work or adoption of a transition to retirement strategy
- Investment mix
- Age pension
Plus, you can choose the colour and text of the Lifetime Supermodeller to fit your fund's brand and editorial style.
A fair question, but you’re misunderstanding the concept. The generic Lifetime Supermodeller is 'ready to go' – the development work, and the man hours involved, have been done. That's why the Lifetime Supermodeller has no set-up costs, no minimum subscription period and is based on a monthly fee which is scaled according to your fund's membership.
AHC has partnered with Melbourne-based actuarial firm Cumpston Sarjeant on the Lifetime Supermodeller. They have tested the maths specification and will continue to undertake testing each year after we update the Lifetime Supermodeller to reflect annual rate changes.
As with all projection tools, when a member begins to use the Lifetime Supermodeller they are advised that, while the projection is as accurate as possible, it does not constitute financial advice or a guarantee. The Lifetime Supermodeller has all the necessary legal disclaimers.
The Lifetime Supermodeller will run in any modern web browser that has the Flash Player plugin version 9.0.28.0 or above installed (this includes almost 99% of computers in Australia). The modeller will work best if you have a broadband connection and a modern computer.
The Lifetime Supermodeller will be automatically updated in response to annual rate changes. You will be notified when a change has taken place and an updated version of your modeller will be supplied to you. The cost for this is covered by the annual subscription.
